Head of Policy, Strategy and Impact

**Summary**:
We are looking for a Head of Policy, Strategy and Impact to join us at the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH). This is an exciting time for us as an organisation as the social housing sector and RSH are faced with a growing range of policy challenges to respond to, a wider set of objectives to deliver against, increasingly high-profile casework and a fast-changing operating environment.

Working closely with stakeholders across government, tenants and landlords to ensure the RSH has the right strategy, policy approach and impact, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional at the heart of social housing policy making.
In this role you will manage a team contributing to the RSH’s strategy, working on policy questions and the development of the regulatory framework, and assessing the impact of the RSH’s activity.
Reporting to an Assistant Director - Policy, Strategy and Impact, and matrix-working with colleagues across the Strategy Directorate and wider RSH, you will contribute to policy advice to the RSH’s Board and Executive and manage the RSH’s statutory consultations. You will represent the RSH in discussions with government and wider stakeholders over policy and legislation and provide policy advice to the RSH’s Board and Executive.
Through participating in horizon scanning and regular scenario testing you will contribute to ensuring the RSH maintains a strong understanding of its risk environment, how it may develop and where its risk appetite lies. You will identify and develop responses to trends, issues and policy questions, seeking to ensure that we stay ahead of the game and delivers its objectives. And you will close the loop on assessing the effectiveness of our strategy by implementing an approach to gathering assurance on impact.

**Location**
We operate a hybrid model of working with a mix of office and home working.
This role can be based out of any of RSH’s core offices in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Bristol. Our Manchester office will be relocating during 2024/25, however will remain within the city centre. offer a range of flexible working arrangements and staff can benefit from working from home for part of their hours. Most roles involve some travel within England between our offices, with some roles also involving onsite visits to social housing providers.

The salary for this role is a spot salary within the given range, which will normally be the minimum of the range. There is no incremental progression through a pay scale. Annual salary reviews are determined by the government pay award. In addition, when the probation period is successfully completed, a performance related bonus may be awarded, based on appraisal ratings at the end of the qualifying appraisal year.
