**About the job**:
**Job summary**:
**Choosing a career is a big deal, right?**
There are different options to consider and questions to ask.
So, to help you make your decision that bit easier, let’s start with this question: What’s important to you?
We asked the current apprentices the same thing and here’s what they had to say:
- Using the latest tech
- Career progression with tailored support
- A qualification without the debt
- Working in an inclusive, supportive environment where your potential, skills and perspectives are valued
If some of these resonate with you, you’re in the right place.
As an electronics degree apprentice at HMGCC, you’ll undertake placements across our electronics teams that do everything from design and test simple single board computers right the way through to the development of software defined radios.
**Job description**:
**The Scheme**
Over the course of your apprenticeship, you’ll divide your time between a university campus completing the knowledge and proficiency qualifications of the programme, and on the job training at HMGCC. There will be a requirement to travel to your training provider. You’ll receive paid for membership with a professional organisation such as the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
You will get involved in real-world projects from the beginning. Throughout the programme, you’ll be allocated a buddy and undertake various mentored work placements and customer projects which will give you hands-on experience to back up your theoretical learning.
On completion of the scheme, you’ll have a solid foundation to begin your career. Depending on what you enjoy, you might be designing radio systems, single board computers, data acquisition systems, printed circuit boards, and fault finding complex electronic circuits. Your development doesn’t end with the completion of your apprenticeship; you’ll experience a career that’s as varied and progressive as you want it to be.
