The Royal Oldham Hospital provides a unique and much needed service not only to its local community but also across Greater Manchester.
We are looking to recruit Healthcare Assistants to support our nursing team on The Acute Medical Unit (AMU) which is a busy 48 bedded unit. We look after patients with a variety of acute medical conditions who are generally admitted to us from A&E or their own homes. We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced healthcare assistants to join our team. You will report directly to the senior nurses in charge of the unit. AMU is one of the few areas in the hospital that have senior nurse covering the unit 24/7.
This really is a unique opportunity for Healthcare Assistants who are looking to pursue a career in a hospital setting. We’d love to show you around so you can see for yourself. Informal visits are welcome, please contact the unit and speak to any of the Senior Nursing Team.

The part you play
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are motivated, friendly and highly driven to deliver high standards of quality care to our patients. The role will require shift working including rotation onto nights. You will receive support from the senior nursing team to develop in your role.
You will be someone who works well under pressure, is a great team player as well as being self-motivated and able to work independently when needed. You’ll be someone who truly understands the need for care, consideration and respect for our patients but also applies these qualities to your team members.
A ‘can do’ attitude and determination to be flexible and embrace change to deliver the best patient care is essential as well as a desire to grow and improve our ever growing service.
Your communication skills will be second to none, working collaboratively with patients, relatives/carers and Colleagues to help plan a safe and seamless journey home.
