**About the Role**
Trafford’s Trading Standards Team have an exciting new Trading Standards Officer vacancy.
The primary role of the Trading Standards Team is to carry out a range of regulatory and enforcement functions in the areas of consumer protection, including product safety, fair trading, metrology, underage sales and animal feedstuffs.
The Trading Standards Team are crucial to the Council meeting its statutory requirements in the above areas and the team provide specialist knowledge and advice in these topics. The work undertaken by the team directly contributes to the Council’s corporate priority of reducing health inequalities.
This role offers the flexibility of hot desking/home working together with field-based work.
**About you**
You will be able to demonstrate your ability to work independently but also as part of a team.
- You will have the Diploma in Trading Standards, or equivalent Trading Standards qualification (to include metrology)
- With the exception of Food Standards, you will be responsible for delivering excellent regulatory service across the full range of Trading Standards duties. You will need to demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills, together with a proven record of effective working with relevant partners and business community.

You will have flexibility in terms of hybrid working at home and in the office.
You will hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own vehicle for work use, willing to travel to and work at different sites across the borough of Trafford.
