**About the role**
As the Website Content Manager for Pearson UK, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance on the use of the web content management system.
You will be supporting business and marketing team in the production of consistent high quality web content, ensuring customer journeys are optimised across the website and meet business and customer needs.
You will ensure that best practice and brand guidelines are followed and ensure an insight focused approach is adopted to help drive maximum engagement from Pearson UK’s customers with a view to increasing lead generation, advocacy, and loyalty. You willwork with multiple stakeholders split across various locations and departments and you will play a leading role in helping us move towards a distributed publishing model, whereby content owners take on responsibility for updating their own content.

**Main accountabilities**
- In-house expert on the website CMS (AEM), training and supporting all CMS users, updating training and support documentation, defining good practice and ensuring good practice is maintained.
- Provide guidance and support to business users and content authors in planning and optimising customer journeys, ensuring content is clearly presented and signposted.
- Provide guidance and support on best practice in writing for the web ensuring web content adheres to house style and tone of voice guidelines.
- Manage centralised content projects and support requests for ad hoc updates to copy/documents on websites, including editing content supplied by the business and building new pages/content areas, ensuring a high level of customer service is provided to businessand content owners.
- To raise the importance of what makes good mobile content and adoption of best practice within the business.
- Work with business owners to put in place maintenance schedules to ensure website content is regularly updated and support with the creation of content calendars to provide ongoing communications and engagement with customers.
- Use web analytics and other digital marketing tools (such as Hotjar) to provide insight to optimise customer journeys, improve conversion rates and website goals and improve the quality of website content.
- To raise the profile and importance of providing and managing website content to build the Pearson brand loyalty, improve customer experience and increase engagement.
- Support managers and executives across the business to take responsibility for owning and updating content.
- Develop understanding across the business of personalisation opportunities within the content management system and where this can be best used to improve engagement and conversion rates.
- Creation, management and monitoring of KPIs for website content, production of monthly reports, project updates.
- Covering for other areas of the content team where necessary.
**Experience**
This role will interface with a wide range of teams in a range of locations and is critically important in improving the user experience across all our customer facing websites. As such it requires a highly energetic individual with:
- Experience of using web content management systems (preferably Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe digital marketing cloud/suite).
- Strong influencing skills, flexible and consultative - able to operate effectively in an organisation with both local and national dimensions.
- Strong diplomatic skills, with the sensitivity to deal with multiple agendas and complex groupings of stakeholders.
- The ability to set and follow processes and procedures with a high level of attention to detail but flex these processes and procedures when the market or situation changes.
- Highly organised, strong attention to detail, pro-active and a self-starter.
- Able to translate business requirements into functional requirements.
- Good team player.
- The ability to work to tight timescales.
- Strong understanding of web usability and accessibility.
