Head of Private Client

Wills & Trusts Solicitors are a modern, forward thinking legal practice looking to recruit a new Head of Private Client to help us continue our journey of growth. This would be a fantastic opportunity for either a driven and ambitious senior qualified Solicitor looking for the next step up, or potentially someone already highly experienced with the private client field that is looking to play a key role within a fast-growing legal practice.

**Primary responsibilities will include**:

- Leadership/Directorship of the Wills & Trusts Solicitors team, responsible for all aspects of people management.
- Act as or deputise for the COLP role to ensure compliance with SRA regulations
- Work with the COFA to ensure compliance with SRA regulations
- Collaboration with the wider Leadership Team to define the strategy and deliver the vision.
- Work with Marketing to promote W&T Solicitors and generate new business.
- Initially playing a hands-on role, working with the team supporting, advising and guiding clients through the probate process.
- Provision of client advice on Lifetime and Estate Planning, Will Writing, Trust administration and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
- Maintain existing and implement new systems and processes to ensure delivery of compliant, industry best practice standards
- Undertake a broad range of Private Client legal work, to include Probate, Will drafting,
- Trust administration and the preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorneys
- Manage an ongoing review of services appropriate to the Client’s needs in line with the business’s proposition offering
- Responsible for the acquisition of new clients to ensure that company targets are achieved
- Retain deceased Clients’ Funds Under Management (FUM) within the Advanced Investment Strategy
- Partnering with our team of Financial Advisers, you will be responsible for managing the technical aspects of financial planning meetings, specifically regarding legal recommendations for Client presentations
- Ensure that any business conducted is done so in a responsible and compliant manner, meeting all legislative requirements, both internally and externally.
- Promote the profile of the business within the profession and wider communities
- Team leadership, responsible for motivating behaviours and driving results as well as managing the on-going personal development of all individuals. This includes weekly 1-2-1’s, Team meetings, personal development reviews etc.
- In order to ensure that W&T Solicitors remain compliant in line with SRA requirements it is also imperative that you are up to date with relevant legislation.

Our ideal applicant will be a qualified and highly experienced Private Client Solicitor with experience of leading a small team of legal and administrative professionals. You will be a client focused individual that is passionate about providing a professional service and capable of putting our clients’ needs first during a particularly sensitive time. Commercial thinking is critical as you will be primarily responsible for driving the growth of a start-up legal practice. In order to ensure that W&T Solicitors remain compliant in line with SRA requirements it is also imperative that you are up to date with relevant legislation.

Position can be either hybrid (2 days remote) or office-based.

**Salary**: £60,000.00-£75,000.00 per year
