**RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUAL for a group of 3 children's homes in the St Helens area of Merseyside (14 beds)**
**August 2024**
**This is a sensitive appointment following a challenging period of inspections, and the company are keen to recruit a new RI quickly to take us forward. The company has been operating local homes since 2004 and is sekking to stabilise and create a positive new vision under a new RI.**
We are looking for an experienced manager who can provide effective oversight to the management of the homes and the registered managers. We aim to provide homes that are homely, stable and well-run, and are looking for an RI who has a track-record of making a real difference to lives of the young people we care for and create loving homes that are very much part of the local community. The 3 homes offers 14 beds to young people who may have emotional behavioural difficulties. We want the care we offer to be outstanding. Support will be in place from the operations director.
Post holders will be required to work a minimum of 37 hours per week. The salary package is competitive (to be agreed up to £65k pro-rata) plus potential bonuses which reflects the crucial significance of the role, qualifications and experience. We are looking for someone to grow with the company and want to invest in you for the long term. Ideally you will hold a Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care or higher/equivalent combined with a leadership and management qualification. You will need to register with Ofsted to fulfil the requirements of this role.
The post holder will
- Have a major contribution to make on the stabilisation, development and growth of our children’s home business, aligning services and setting the strategic priorities for our care.
- Act as Ofsted Responsible Individual for the children’s homes, ensuring our service is fully compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements, particularly The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and accompanying guidance.
- Will work with the Registered Managers; ensuring the service is safe, well run and complies with regulations.
- Support the Registered Managers in the management of the children’s homes and provide management support and supervision to the Registered Manager.
- Ensure a high standard of consistent care and service in accordance with legislation, central government guidance, regulations and standards, and our policies and procedures.
- Conduct internal audits and quality checks of policies and procedures and service regulations. Identify recommendations and areas for improvement. Maintain an audit schedule to ensure the home(s) comply with legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Be responsible for the service making safe and robust decision making, prompt and appropriate responses to referrals, assessments, and allocation of work, in accordance with statutory requirements, local and national policies and procedures.
- Ensure the homes have clear written on children’s progress, reviews, planning meetings, and any other purpose as required.
- Ensure good quality analysis, planning, and risk assessment is evident throughout the service.
- Ensure the team maintains accurate and full records of all interventions with the children we care for and our staff, in line with safeguarding children and data protection requirements.
