**Salary**: National - circa £110,000, London - circa £130,000

A fantastic opportunity has arisen in the Group Data Governance and Privacy team for an individual who is passionate about data governance and privacy.

The role extends across Group and provides an excellent opportunity to work collaboratively across our business to design and lead successful global data governance frameworks at enterprise level.

A bit about the job:
Data is a key enabler of Aviva strategy, powering the customer centricity that will drive sustainable growth. As such, we strive to manage data responsibly and ethically across the Aviva Group, while ensuring regulatory compliance and building customer trust.

The Head of Group Data Governance and Data Privacy is responsible for maturing and overseeing a framework that ensures data assets are managed and utilised effectively and that high standards are maintained in line with the evolving landscape of regulations and ethical requirements.

The role is a senior member of the team reporting into the Chief Data Officer and provides strategic oversight of data governance and data privacy, setting the approach, definition and design of end-to-end data governance and privacy frameworks, business standards and guidelines.

The role supports C-Suite and the Senior Leadership in ensuring that the Group Data Governance & Data Privacy business standards are implemented consistently, organizational data risks are understood, and exposures are effectively controlled and governed.

This is a great job for someone who has strong data governance & data privacy expertise gained from working within a regulated industry and wishes to continue their career working for the UK’s leading Insurance, Wealth, and Retirement business.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the Data Governance, Data Privacy and associated risk domains and how critical these are within financial services- You will be a great communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and build good relationships across risk and compliance and beyond- Proven track record in leading a team across Data Governance, Data Privacy, and Data Risk management- Hands-on experience in managing oversight processes and a proven track record of dealing with complex data protection and privacy issues- A qualification or certification in data governance or privacy management is preferred
