Bank Community Care Worker

**Make a difference.** **Job Role** You will be visiting and supporting people in their own homes. You will be supporting a range of people all with different homes and personalities with varying needs over the age of 65. You will support service users to prevent unnecessary hospital and care home admissions. You will be lone working for most of the time (not always) and will be an active member to your close network care team. **What does BANK mean?** This advert is for BANK. These positions offer optimum flexibility. You are not contracted to any set shift or hours. You select from the available shifts what you want to do, you don't have to work Christmas, bank holidays, birthdays, special occasions - you name it, you are in control of your own hours. The purpose of the role is to cover annual leave, staff shortages, illnesses and (and other absences) that falls over the entire year. Our BANK members must work at least 1 shift per month (of their choice) to ensure they continue to be familiar with role and compliant and competent. The is no hour guarantee on bank. **Duties (vary depending on the person you support)** - Administer & manage medication - Order & collect medication - Support with personal care (washing/dressing/commode care/catheter care/ continence care) - Support people with dementia - Light domestic duties - Meal preparation and cooking - Supporting people to make GP appointments, referrals - Companionship, emotional support - Moving & handling - Dignified end of life care - Attending weekly team meetings **Requirements**: - An enhanced DBS check (funded by us) **Wages** - We have the following wage structure: - £9.90 None patient contact (for meetings and your home training courses) - £10.50 Unqualified Care rate - £11.05 Qualified rate (Health &Social Care Diploma/NVQ) - 25p per mile to cover petrol costs (we will help you claim more from HMRC if required) **Travel** All of our service users are all based in Morecambe - though we plan to expand further a field in the distant future. All home visits are scheduled as close to each other as possible, 2 miles is our average distance between jobs. We have an app that calculates your mileage between jobs accurately.
