The post would suit a good team player dedicated to high quality patient care. The opportunity exists to work in a non-hierarchical setting and offer a wide range of general surgical procedures in this busy DGH. The postholder will be required to create effective relationships with clinical colleagues as well as members of the management team Senior management is supportive of the service and related opportunities for development. The appointee will be required to deliver high quality care to the patients presenting to the Department.

The Consultant on call rota will be a 1:6 or 1:7 basis with internal cover between Consultants for annual leave, lieu and study leave. No elective duties are scheduled whilst on call.
