Divisional Head of Finance

The Divisional Head of Finance will work alongside the Senior Leadership Teams across two or more clinical divisions providing overall financial leadership and direction. The Divisional Head of Finance will influence strategic decision making within the Trust through the provision of highly complex business and financial advice and support to the Executive Directors, Senior Operational Managers, Clinicians and Budget Managers across the Divisions. This role will support with enhancing relationships between finance and clinical and non-clinical teams in financial performance management, use of resources, cost improvement development, financial planning and education.
The role includes specific responsibility for the regular reporting of financial and non-financial performance management information, supporting the development of the Trusts Annual Plan and Divisional Business Plans. The post holder will lead the annual financial planning and budget setting process for their divisions, advising on short, medium and long term strategic, financial and business planning issues as well as taking responsibility for ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, integrity and business focus of financial systems and processes within the division.

The Divisional Heads of Finance will line manage the Finance Business Partners who are dedicated to the divisions as well as providing professional oversight to the Management Accountants to deliver both the Divisional and the Trusts’ corporate objectives. The post holder will be responsible for leading and developing a team of professionals ensuring a comprehensive and efficient service is provided at all times

In addition to the divisional responsibilities, the Heads of Finance will be aligned to Trust wide clinical service developments, transformation and efficiency schemes as required. The post holder will provide financial expertise, divisional insight and challenge to the overall direction and progress of each programme.
