Buckinghamshire Council is expanding our children's residential homes to ensure that children in care have homes in the surrounding Bucks area. With six existing homes and several new ones opening over the next two years, there will be numerous opportunities for growth and development.

**About the role**:
As a night support worker, you will be part of a dedicated team providing a safe and nurturing environment for young people in care. Your responsibilities will include:
- **Supporting Wellbeing**: Work to maintain or improve the mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing of young people, and help prepare them for independence.
- **Corporate Parenting**: Assist children with attending education, following routines, and implementing healthy boundaries while collaborating with professionals such as social workers and families.
- **Shift Work**: Night shifts
- **Role Modelling**: Lead by example for the young people, adhering to Buckinghamshire Council's policies and procedures.
- **Professional Meetings**: Attend and support young people at meetings with professionals.
- **Independent Living Skills**: Help young people develop and maintain skills for independent living.
- **Documentation**: Document and report any changes or concerns regarding the wellbeing of individuals
As a ‘fixed’ worker, you’ll spend most of your time in the same location, which will likely be a fixed office or location where your role is performed. Typically, you’ll be based in the same location as the rest of your team, because you provide a particular service from that fixed location or need access to information there.

- **Qualifications**: Ideally hold a Level 3 Diploma in Children's Residential Care or an equivalent qualification.
- **Behavior Management**: Be capable of managing challenging behaviors, with ongoing training provided to support you.

- **Open-Mindedness**: Have an open and forward-thinking approach to healthy change and parenting styles.
- **Flexibility**: Be willing to engage in a variety of tasks, as every day brings new experiences
