**Qualifications**

As you will be working with vulnerable adults, so Disclosure and Barring service Clearance will be required. Qualifications are not essential but experience in this field will be beneficial. If you are new to Social Care England you will be required to complete a 12 week Care Certificate course as part of your induction within 6 weeks of employment you will be required to attend compulsory training in key areas of responsibility associated with this position. These courses will need to be attended frequently to ensure your skills and knowledge are up to date with current best practice and guidelines, QCF qualifications and additional training will be offered as part of our CPD programme.

**Key duties**
- Get to know residents, their interests and needs
- Maintain good lines of communication with residents their next of Kin/significant others and update them on matters as required
- To familiarise yourself with residents key information
- Support and assist residents with personal care like washing, dressing, bathing and toileting
- Promote independence, choice and dignity with residents and work in a person centred way at all times
- Provide assistance or support with other tasks of daily living
- Prepare and serve food, snacks and drinks and monitor intake
- Administering and monitoring the intake of medicines
- Promote social stimulation and inclusion (activities)
- Report both verbally and in writing on the health and wellbeing of a resident
- To handover information to care staff, seniors and management in a clear, factual and professional manner
- To carry out general housekeeping such as laundry, making beds, removing waste, cleaning tables, basins and bins
- To maintain cleanliness and safety around the home and in particular residents personal environments
- Remove or minimise identified risks
- Maintaining cleanliness of equipment such as commodes bath hoists, call bells and mobility aids
- Report both verbally and in writing on the general condition and cleanliness of the building
- To identify changes in residents health and make contact with the relevant practitioner if necessary (GP, 999, 111, district nurse)
- To liaise and communicate with all health care professionals effectively
- To act as a chaperone to appointments/outings
- To act as a representative for CEL Care Services and positively promote our service in and outside of the setting
- Report of accidents, verbally and in writing,
- Report compliments or complaints directly to the manager
- Listen to feedback and take on board advice from management
- To familiarise yourself with the homes policies and procedures and work within the guidelines as well as code of practice/conduct
- Be aware and adhere to relevant legislation and policies such as confidentiality/privacy, safeguarding, health and safety, infection control
- Care planning, keyworker, shift responsible person, use of pc
- To observe, evidence and review the needs of the residents
- To assist the manager with creating routines based on resident need
- To be able to confidently take on ‘on-call duties’ (be available to give advice support and assistance over the phone, and to be willing to attend in an emergency situation)

These duties listed above are not exhaustive and you may be asked to carry out other tasks set by the manager

**Hours**
- Full time 36 hours plus per week
- Part time 24-36 hours per week
- Shift patterns and rotas based on the needs of the clients

**Salary**

**Monitoring and reviews**
- Induction period minimum 36 hours supervised by manager
- Probationary 3-6 months including monthly reviews and supervisions (12 week care certificate)
