**Key eligibility criteria**:
Must have eligibility to live and work in the UK.

Must be one of the following:

- Already an approved and active IELTS Speaking Test Examiner with the British Council
- Already an approved and active IELTS Speaking Test Examiner with IDP Australia
- A recently lapsed (3 months or less) IELTS Speaking Test Examiner with the British Council

Must hold or be willing to comply with a UK government Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check (or Garda Vetting equivalent in Ireland).

**Type of contract**:
Casual worker contract for
** “**piece work” (workers are paid per task they do). No minimum guaranteed income or hours worked for the piece work completed.

**Expenses**:
MTS reimburses its MTS IELTS Examiners (capped at up to £22.50 per day worked as an Examiner) to cover travel expenses to and from the test venue.

**Working days**:
Usually Saturdays, but also some Tuesdays or Thursdays.

**Job purpose**:
To conduct face to face IELTS exam Speaking section interviews and carry out assessments for the IELTS Speaking section maintaining the standards required by the IELTS Professional Support Network (PSN) and the British Council.

**Person specification**:

- Already a British Council or IDP Australia IELTS Examiner (or recently lapsed one if with the British Council).
- An undergraduate degree or a qualification(s) that can be demonstrated to be equivalent to an undergraduate degree.
- A recognised qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL/TEFL) or recognized equivalent as part of a recognised university award course.
- At least 3 years’ full time (or the equivalent part time) relevant TESOL teaching experience (minimum one year post-certificate level qualification). The majority of this teaching experience must relate to adult students (16 years and over).
- Relevant professional attributes and good interpersonal skills / customer care skills.
