**Salary**: £22,500 per annum

**Base**: New Dawn Ward (Female Personality Disorder), Cygnet Hospital Ealing

**Responsibilities**: To work with the qualified occupational therapist on the ward to provide professional practice skills - care pathway assessments and therapy and psycho-education programme for the ward.

**Responsible to**: Ward occupational therapist, Head Occupational Therapist and Director of Occupational Therapy

**Hours**:37.5 hours per week

**Location**:Cygnet Ealing, 22 Corfton Rd, London W5 2HT

**Overview of service**:
**Cygnet Hospital Ealing** provides a welcoming, non-institutional environment, offering personalised treatment for service users with an eating disorder or personality disorder over two separate wards.

**New Dawn Ward** at Cygnet Hospital Ealing is a 9 bed specialist Tier 4 service, providing treatment, care and support for women with a personality disorder who are ready to engage in therapy.

As an occupational therapy assistant you will work under the guidance of an occupational therapist to complete elements of the occupational therapy process. This may include interventions on a group or individual basis both within the hospital and in the wider community, grading and adapting activities to suit individual strengths and needs and aspects of report-writing.

The Occupational Therapy Team work within a multi-disciplinary team to drive forward programmes of recovery and rehabilitation. Our care pathways are evidence based with a focus on social inclusion and independent living skills. The multi-disciplinary team consists of medical, nursing, psychology, occupational therapy and social work.

- An understanding of Occupational Therapy
- Experience of teamwork - health care preferable
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- Creativity and an ability to problem solve
