BI Project Manager

**Business Intelligence Project Manager | Oxfordshire | 75K+Car Allowance**

I am currently partnered with a specialist retail company, who specialise in the development and operation of luxury outlet shopping destinations across Europe, working with the worlds leading brands in key tourist markets.

With a unique platform of locations, strategically positioned in Europe's major markets, the collection of shopping villages is promoted to a global audience, forming more than 200 partnerships with global tourism related businesses including hotels, airlinesand tour operators.

They are now looking for an experienced BI Project Manager, responsible for managing the successful delivery of the Business Intelligence / Power BI projects as well as ensuring the BI platform, systems and solutions are stable, well supported and reliable.

**Responsibilities**:
**Project Definition**
- Project, resource and budget definition, including (as required):

- Facilitate the development of a strategic plan to deliver IT & Business change
- Manage business demand, prioritisation and expectation
- Convert prioritised business demand into well-defined projects and deliverables
- Be the technology partner for business in the Business Intelligence portfolio

**Project Management**
- Full project lifecycle management all workstreams, including:

- Work with Product Owners to build and sign off Product Backlog / Project Definition
- Vendor selection, contract negotiation and ongoing management (as required)
- Ensure solution design approval, and resulting product is secure, stable and well supported,
- Manage the delivery of the features in the Product Backlog using a combination of inhouse and nearshore agile development teams
- Handover of newly implemented change to appropriate Business / Technical support
- Manage status reporting of projects to Project and Steering Boards,
- Controls (managed through standard governance process):

- Milestone plan for workstreams and projects,
- Success Criteria / Benefits Case,
- Budget Management,
- Risks, Issues, Actions & Decisions

**Quality Assurance / Standards**
- Full system and user testing, signed off prior to implementation
- Complete quality assurance reviews to monitor the quality of project deliverables and reporting
- Maintain project methodologies, to ensure a consistent use of processes and practices
- Coach and mentor team to ensure adoption and consistency
- Lead internal Centre of Excellence team to deliver business support and small enhancements
- Participate in annual business & budget planning process to build a roadmap for the Power BI Business Intelligence portfolio

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Extremely strong project management and change management background with a demonstrable track record of operating effectively in a dynamic, fast paced, challenging and delivery focused Project / Programme environments containing blended teams (e.g. permanent,contract, vendor, SI, Business/IT/operational teams, offshore).

**Essential competency / experience**:

- Minimum 5 years' experience in project management, at least 2 of which are leading complex business change programmes
- Able to demonstrate experience of project delivery
- Formal project management qualifications
- A thorough understanding of all different aspects of project management, and can explain and direct others to deliver these
- Direct experience managing a modern Business Intelligence platform / portfolio
- Understanding of Microsoft BI stack and Power BI
- Exposure to data standards, concepts and data governance best practice
- Experience of reporting into steering group level
- Excellent interpersonal communications skills
- Extremely well organised and detail oriented
- Confident, driven and have a strong determination to succeed
- Desirable competency / experience:

- Certified in Agile / Scrum techniques
- Experience in full spectrum of Software Development Lifecycle
- A good understanding of cyber security and system support

Experience of integrating data sources with a Business Intelligence platform -Salesforce, Oracle, MRI Software, SAP SuccessFactors and Planon.
