**Vacancy Overview**:
- Respond to the needs of client’s through the delivery of Carers respite breaks and homecare services.
- Provide person centred support to clients to help them maintain their independence and to remain in their own home.
- Listen and understand client’s needs to support them in achieving their goals and desired outcomes as identified in their care plan.
- Assist clients with social, domestic and personal care as needed, maintaining dignity and respecting confidentiality at all times.
- Social and Emotional Support
- Provide unpaid family carers with a respite break from their caring role.
- Escort clients to attend social clubs and trips out that promote their wellbeing and keeps them connected with their local community.
- Provide emotional support to the family as part of a caring team.
- Personal Care
- Assist with getting up and ready for the day to include all aspects of personal care.
- Support the management of medication through prompting, administering or collection from pharmacy
- Prepare and cook meals
- Administration
- Ensure care plans are implemented and updated in line with client needs.
- Liaise regularly with the Crossroads Care Management team to ensure central systems are updated in line with any changes in client information or care needs.
- Ensure any safeguarding concerns are reported in line with organisational guidelines.
- Respond appropriately to complaints and concerns from families ensuring the care management team are advised in line with organisational guidelines.
- Contribute to the development of Crossroads Care Services by providing new ideas and having a flexible approach to an evolving service.
**Skills Required**:
- Ability to communicate using the English language both verbally and in writing.
- Able to develop good working relationships with clients while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Able to work independently and take initiative while working within Crossroads Care policies, procedures and guidance.
- Able to demonstrate care and respect for vulnerable adults and children.
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults and children.
- Able to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to deal with sensitive personal care issues.
- An understanding of the needs of carers.
- A commitment to the objectives and ethos of Crossroads Care.
- A current driving licence, own car and business insurance.
- Drivers will only be permitted to carry clients if they have held a driving licence for at least one year and have no more than six points on their licence.
- A willingness to undergo screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Criminal Records Bureau. #

**Apprenticeship details**:
Over the course of 15 - 18 months (dependent upon the level of course an apprentice is being enrolled onto), you will study things such as the principles of healthcare and safeguarding, person-centred care & support, physiological measurements, basic life support, dementia, cognitive & mental health support, moving, handling and infection control, supporting daily living, lifespan development and healthcare needs, duty of care and legislation. Higher level courses go into more depth within different pathways such as dementia, learning disabilities and Autism, children & adolescent mental health, combined therapies, complex care, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, substance misuse and acquired brain injury (these topics may differ).
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship programme, you will achieve a Level 2 or 3 qualification and a TQUK Diploma in Care.
If you do not hold GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent), these will be delivered alongside the apprenticeship programme.
Our delivery of training is through blended learning. Supported by one of our sector specialist tutors, they will deliver teaching sessions using various methods including face to face teaching, Skype, Facetime, telephone and peer virtual classroom whilst using our interactive multi-sensory teaching resources.
