Group Financial Reporting Accountant

An opportunity has arisen for a Group Financial Reporting Accountant to join a multinational pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical company.

This role sits in the Group Financial Reporting section. You will report to the GPO- Intercompany Inventory Elimination and work closely with the Group Consolidation Team. You will have the opportunity to see at first hand, and be closely involved in, theprocess for announcing results. In addition, you will provide specialist advice and guidance to the business to enable accurate and timely financial reporting.

Location: Cambridge - once restrictions are lifted aiming for 3 days on site

Pay rate: £410 PAYE - £500 LTD daily rate

Duration: 6 months

Role Summary:
You will provide first
- line support to Group Consolidation team and oversight to the PURP (Provision for UnRealised Profit) team, including the review of key schedules and reconciliations, investigation of differences and communication with stakeholders.

You will be supporting PURP and relevant Group Financial Reporting team in the month end close process which include:

- leading monthly feedback and performance reporting process with Group Finance Services (GFS)
- a key role in the preparation and review of the Annual Report and 20-F
- managing matters with PwC (external auditor) throughout the year to ensure a successful year-end audit
- assisting with activities relating to the SOX reporting timetable to ensure all key deadlines are met/work performed
- advising on reporting treatment and provide other practical support as required by reporting units
- supporting GFR’s consolidation continual improvement process, sharing best practice amongst the team and the wider finance community
- preparing quality financial analysis and develop recommendations to remediate reporting errors and complexities
- ad-hoc review/analysis and/or BAU activities
- Supporting Group Consolidation team with Financial Reporting and other Central Accounting requirements

Experience/ Qualifications Required:

- Qualified accountant
- Significant experience of financial statement preparation and external audit
- Understanding of consolidation mechanics and systems/tools, preferably hyperion.
- Experience of reporting under IFRS
- Experience of financial control and SOX frameworks
- Proven delivery in a large and complex business environments.
- Intercompany profit elimination / Intercompany reporting
- Large organisation group financial reporting.
- Stakeholder management / management experience
- Consolidation experience
