**Peer Support Worker - Covering Tadley, Hampshire area**

As one of Hampshire’s leading Mental Health Charities, Andover Mind is entering an exciting phase of growth to meet the needs of our communities around mental health and wellbeing support associated with the Community NHS Transformation Programme.

The mental health and wellbeing of the communities across Hampshire is our top priority and we are looking for a Peer Support Worker to join a brand new mental health service across the Rural West Primary Care Network. Primary Care Networks (PCNs) are groups of GP practices who work together in a local geographical area and over the couple of years, we have been working with the NHS to improve the local mental health services within GP surgeries in our region.

As an integral and highly valued member of our team, this is an opportunity to “give something back” in a positive way by sharing wisdom from your own lived experience of mental health problems, our Peer Support Workers inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible. Our Peer Support Workers build feelings of empowerment, self-esteem and confidence and enable people to regain control of their lives and their own unique recovery process. Peer support is a strengths-based approach which recognises the individual as a whole person rather than only focusing on the problem. Work is carried out in various ways in the community, helping patients build confidence to improve their wellbeing.

This is a non-clinical role which promotes self help and works as an integral part of a new Primary Care Mental Health Service. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team alongside other professionals such as; Wellbeing Advisors, psychological therapists, pharmacists, social prescribers and a dedicated GP Lead.

Hours will be worked in an outreach capacity, at the Rural West PCN sites, and there may be some opportunities for home working.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 22.5 per week

**Salary**: £10.50 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Tadley: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Own lived mental health recovery: 2 years (preferred)
