**The Company**

ATE was established in 1995 and is now one of the most active, progressive independent distributors of trailers, parts and towed equipment. Our range of products covers plant hire, machinery dealing and repairing and civil engineering. Our customers consist of public utilities, event hire, government and councils.

Due to continued growth, we have a new opportunity for a Production Operative to join our team, working within the Towmate production department.

**The Role**

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Operative’s objective is to work closely with colleagues to build trailers in accordance with the customer orders and maintain the daily work flow of the trailer build process, ensuring that quality, compliance and health and safety requirements are consistently met. You will following the Standard Operating Procedures for different variants of the product, assist with deliveries as needed, and provide feedback to R&D in regard to any suggestions for improvements.

The Production Operative role is a full-time position, working 42.5 hours per week, based at our depot in Colchester (CO2 8WA). Hours of work are 7.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, with half an hour (unpaid) for lunch each day. You may be asked to work additional hours in order to meet the needs of the business; authorised overtime above your weekly hours will be paid at time and a half.

You will be deadline-conscious and customer-focussed to ensure that our customers receive the highest quality product without delay.

**Technical Requirements**:

- Factory/Production experience (preferred)
- Mechanical assembly experience (preferred)
- Engineering experience (preferred)
- Understanding of lean methodology (the continuous improvement cycle) or willingness to learn
- Use of hand/power tools and a wide range of fixings.

**What You Will Get In Return**
- Salary circa £23,000 - £26,000 per annum, dependent on skills and experience
