Production Operator reporting to Shift Production Manager

The key objective of this role is to operate the production lines efficiently, to guarantee the quality of our products and to reach the set KPI targets. The production operative will assist the team in all aspects of daily production tasks to ensure the smooth running of the factory, with a clear focus on both safety and food safety.

Follow and maintain a safe and compliant environment, manufacturing quality products as required by the Customer agreed standard and contribute to the culture of Continuous Improvement.

Main responsibilities:

- Working in a safe manner with due consideration for personal Health & Safety and that of colleagues at all times
- Strive to achieve 0 accidents
- Always follow the 10 golden rules for Health & Safety
- Ensure optimum quality of the products at all times
- Follow customer specifications
- Report any issues to the Quality and Management teams
- Participate in food safety training
- Maintain GMP standards
- Meet set targets set by the Shift Manager
- Use the correct resources and equipment
- Analyse and solve issues that may arise, report any issues that may impact the activities and cause disruption to production
- Operate the production line efficiently, following the appropriate Standard Operating Procedures
- Ensure that Health & Safety/Food Safety legislation is always adhered to
- Identify opportunities and create solutions to eliminate losses and reduce waste
- Follow production plans and standards of work
- Inform the Process Reliability Technician about process issues and improvement ideas
- Inform the Team Leader about technical issues and improvement ideas.

Safety:

- Maintain and improve people safety within the working environment by ensuring you work safely and report any accidents and near misses
- Ensure compliance across all areas of responsibility in line with group, category, and legislative requirements
- Work with colleagues to identify and eliminate Health & Safety risks to all colleagues
- Lead by example - Ensure personal behaviours demonstrate zero tolerance to all Health & Safety Issues within area of responsibility

Training: Carry out training of others as required in any aspect of role or as requested

Behaviours: act in line with our Europe Snacks values of Entrepreneurship, Excellence and Care

Deliver KPIs as defined for the role e.g., Safety, Delivery, Cost, Quality, People, Continuous Improvement and as agreed as part of objectives (include detail as required).

Additional information/skill requirements (educational plus other requirements)

Essential:

- Basic understanding of English & Maths or equivalent qualifications
- Basic Health & Safety and Food Safety
- Team player, Flexible approach, Reliable, Attention to detail, High level of accuracy, good verbal communication
- Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment
- Good Manufacturing Practice, Understanding of food manufacturing processes and procedures.

Desirable:

- Analytical thinking
- 1-2 Years working in a fast-paced factory environment
- Basic computer and machinery use
- Food Safety level 2, Health & Safety Level 1.

**Salary**: £10.67 per hour
