We have an excellent career opportunity to join our family run business. The role of **Support Worker **has become vacant here at **Away Day Care **based in Urmston.

**Contract**:Full-Time roles and Part time roles between the hours of 6.45am and 10pm.

**Hours**:We have hours ranging from 16 hours per week upwards.

**Pay**:£12.00 an hour, £12.50 for staff with level 2 NVQ or above

**Who are Away Day Care?**

You would be joining a family run business, originally founded by the family who set up our first Day Service Centre from their own family home. This came after realising there was a strong need for support in their local area. We are an award-winning, high-quality provider of person-centred social care services for young adults.

We assist people with a range of needs including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health, dementia, Autistic spectrum, and sensory needs. Our sites are in the heart of the community, with a range of different settings including a comprehensive Day Service, Respite facility with state-of-the-art Hydrotherapy Spa and Sensory Suite, Supported Living settings, promoting development and life skills and an Employability hub.

As one of our Adult Complex and Additional Needs Support Workers, you will support service users to develop their skills through meaningful activity, promoting person-centred care to empower individuals towards independence and reaching their full potential. You will build and maintain a strong, trusting relationship, encouraging everyone to reach their goals. The role is varied and will include:

- Support service users to enjoy a range of activities across our various care settings and out in the community.
- Assisting individuals with life skill learning, preparing meals & developing life and independence skills.
- Supporting individuals through our employability programme and work placement projects.
- Helping to access college, medical appointments, and local amenities within their community.
- Assisting and supporting service users with all aspects of personal care
- Implementing each person’s individual care plan and work towards agreed outcomes.
- Administering and prompting medication where required.
- Be a kind, empathetic and people person who works well in a team
- Working in accordance with current CQC guidelines and legislation
- Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and evenings

The role is varied and will include attendance at all mandatory training provided by the company.

- Excellent communication skills, including written communication

Please be aware that no qualifications are required and all mandatory training will be provided by the company.

Away Day Care also offer to support those colleagues who wish to to develop their career through formal qualifications.
