**Job description**

It’s an exciting time to be a Leader at the DVLA as we transform our services through new technologies and modern ways of working. As a key member of the management team, you will work with and lead your team to achieve customer service targets, performanceand quality standards which exceed customer expectations whilst improving efficiency in the workplace.
You will lead an efficient and effective operation that prides itself on giving customers an outstanding service and ensuring their data is protected. To achieve this, you will be an exemplary role model and an inspirational leader to those who work for you.

**Responsibilities**

Key accountabilities of the role include:

- Lead the Unit to:

- Achieve key performance targets, performance and quality standards.
- Achieve internal targets and standards.
- Continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Effectively manage risks.
- Support delivery of Electronic services.
- Deliver Change across the Agency.
- Advance and support the Agency’s strategic, organisational and cultural change programmes by, for example:

- Promoting changes and leading teams through the change process.
- Delivering and monitoring the benefits brought by change.
- Building team and management capability to be fit for the future.
- Creating a culture that supports an environment of accountability and future proofs the workforce.
- Contribute to the Agency’s strategic business planning process by developing performance and quality standards and effectively managing all resources based on robust business intelligence.
- Ensure individuals and team colleagues adhere to Data Protection, Security, Health & Safety policies and understand relevant employment law.

**About You**
We are looking for a confident, passionate, and articulate operational delivery professional, who can effectively lead people to exceed our customers’ expectations. You will have extensive experience of leading in an operational, fast paced environment andleading through structural or cultural change.
You have a future focussed approach and can balance long and short-term priorities to implement business, process and people strategies; with a deep understanding of the value that they bring to the business.
You promote an innovative culture; where shared vision, teamwork, and learning from mistakes enable continuous improvement. You’re willing to take considered risks, with the resilience and determination to achieve goals.
Above all, you will possess exceptional relationship and people management skills with a track record of inspiring, motivating and developing teams.
