Care Worker

Bury Flex is a new service supported by Bury Integrated Care Partnership and UTS that enables you to select shifts and work flexibly across a number of our local Social Care and Support services in Bury. You will have worked supporting individuals who have either: - general care and support requirements to retain independence and well being - chronic/long term health condition i.e. Diabetes, neurological disorders - learning/developmental disability i.e. Autism, Asperger's - complex mental health - end of life - complex dementia Skills you may have gained include - Moving and Positioning - Basic Life Support - Medication - Adult Safeguarding - Catherisation - Nebulisation - Nasogastric support - Peg Feeding - Tracheostomy - Oxygen Bury Flex is 100% flexible around your current personal and professional schedule and fills the vital gaps in the care and support work our community needs. It means you control the hours you work and the type of service and care you would like to provide. You might want to juggle your expertise by splitting your experience across different types of adult care, or just squeeze in a few extra or even night shifts to cover the costs of living. We totally understand that not everyone can work full time and many people have lots of things in life that work has to fit around. We are also hoping that some people have a bit of extra time to give and would benefit or just like a secondary income. Yes you might pay a bit more tax to start with, but the HMRC makes sure this all balances out over the year. Working in Care and Support is tough. You are constantly mentally and physically supporting others with your compassion, but the work you do is so very valuable and to be able to do just that little bit more, or return to work offering your skills on your terms would be hugely beneficial to so many vulnerable people. - You have experience working across Health and Social Care. - Would like to work flexibly week to week, with a minimum commitment of 8 hours per week. - Be prepared to affirm your expertise in digital training and assessments. - Are interested in secondary employment - Have an enhanced DBS and be willing to move this to a live status ( we will cover these costs). - Have an expired DBS and willing for us to process a new one. - Are mobile and able to access our care and support services either by walking, public transport or driving and access to a car. - Have solid experience with medication, moving and handling. **Requirements**: The bank hours we have available could see you working within - Reablement - Learning Disabilities - Mental Health - Elderly Care and Dementia - End of Life - Complex Care Most of this work will require you to support personal care and either work within a residential, supported living or "in home" care setting. We need you to be COMPASASSIONATE, KIND, RESPECTFUL, PATIENT, ENTHUSIASTIC AND CARING. We ask that you are committed to making a difference and want to help improve lives in Bury. **Benefits** - Hourly rates will range from £11.44 to £12.50 ( there could an increase for highly complex needs) - Commitment to work can be from 8 to 40hrs plus per week, based on availability. - We offer a range of day, nights and weekend only shifts.
