An exciting opportunity has arisen for a keen and motivated individual to join the Cancer Services Team as a Cancer Pathway Coordinator. This role will help to achieve the Cancer Waiting Times Standards by tracking patients through their pathway and supporting the Multi-Disciplinary cancer teams.

Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.

This role forms part of a team of Cancer Pathway Coordinators undertaking the tracking and escalation of all suspected cancer patients through their diagnostic pathway to a definitive diagnosis.
- To ensure the management of patients is efficient and effective, taking into account the individual needs of the patients and the requirements of the service. To contribute to the achievement of the National Cancer Waiting Times targets, National Audits and Cancer Registry.
- To play a pivotal role in supporting the tumour site specific Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) in co-ordinating services to deliver the specified outcomes and targets of the Cancer Plan.
- To facilitate the patient pathway by co-ordinating and proactively tracking the timeliness of patient treatments within the National guidelines.
- Close and effective liaison with different departments and neighbouring Trusts is an essential aspect of this role. Excellent organisational communication skills together with high levels of accuracy are therefore a key requirement for this post.

To have an active role in redesigning pathways and service improvement, particularly in the analysis of existing pathways to enable a continuous programme of development.
