Risk Management Finance Manager

**What you'll be doing**
- You will be testing compliance across L&G Retail with Group financial control standards (e.g. model risk, payments) according to Group timetable to ensure the Division manages its risks, agree actions on any deficiencies and report findings to the relevantcommittee and Group function.
- You will Manage delivery of agreed financial control remedial actions, gaining appropriate, independent sign off, so that control weaknesses are addressed on a timely basis.
- You will conduct a risk assessment of each financial process and produce recommended control enhancements and risk reductions that are cost effective.
- You will perform monthly asset and quarterly segmental balance sheet reviews, liaising with LGRI and Group Finance on sign-off, to ensure that financial management standards are maintained and to support the audit process.
- You will act as accounting business partner to Operational Risk, advising and supporting them with financial management decisions, driving the planning and forecasting processes, and building effective relationships.
- You will manage the total risk-related expense incurred by the Division, by working with the Group Risk functions and their accountants to analyse the level of spend and basis of expense allocation, challenging spending plans, and reporting findings ona regular basis to the Head of Finance.
- You will develop the risk testing and reporting listed above to consider the possible impact on external customers so that L&G Retail can continue to treat customers fairly (TCF), and agree actions where there are deficiencies
**What we're looking for**
- Qualified accountant
- An understanding of risk within Finance and Actuarial processes, materiality, lead and lag controls is essential.
- Demonstrable experience in assessing risk in this type of environment, defining effective controls and delivering process improvements
- Working across teams and departments to deliver compliance and change
- Working remotely from customers and delivering successfully
- Practical experience of taking the lead, both in a defined situation and when a need for action is identified.
- Proven ability to successfully influence change
