**The role**
As a Piping Designer you will be working within the Engineering Team of Babcock LGE. You will be responsible for the generation of intelligent Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), some 3D modelling and drawing deliverables related to liquefied gas carriers and other oil & gas marine projects, created using AutoCAD and Bentley software packages.

Day to day, you’ll
- Design activities associated with marine liquefied gas plants and fuel gas systems, ensuring safe and economical design while striving for continuous improvement.
- Support the design of process piping systems, including all integrated mechanical equipment, to satisfy client technical specifications.
- Actively participate in Design Review meetings.
- Preparate of technical datasheets, material lists, calculations, engineering reports and operating/installation/commissioning procedures.
- Review and check of piping isometrics, system drawings and bill of materials.

This role is full time, Monday to Friday and is based in with hybrid working arrangements
- 2 days in the office, 3 days working from home.

**Essential experience of the Piping Designer**:

- Demonstrable experience working in a relevant CAD role producing high quality intelligent P&IDs, and/or 3D piping models, plant layout and piping isometric drawings.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative design team.
- Excellent general awareness of process piping components, routing practices, in line equipment and instrumentation interfaces.
- Ability to competently interpret P&IDs.
- Commercial design astuteness and appreciation of the practical impact of design decisions.

**Qualifications for the Piping Designer**:

- HNC in a relevant discipline or equivalent academic qualification and demonstrable experience.
