We now have an exciting opportunity for a
**Trainee Sewing Machinist** to join our experienced team manufacturing special seating for service users.

We work with the NHS to provide seating which meets the postural needs of service users to ensure their maximum comfort, and which allows them to carry out their day to day activities and to meet their full potential.

As a
**Trainee Sewing Machinist**, you'll work with our experienced team of Machinists and Technicians to make the covers for these individual seats, so you’ll learn to:

- Interpret clinical orders
- Work to technical instructions, undertaking precise measurements
- Use industrial sewing machines including flatbed and lockstitch
- Make and cut patterns
- Identify the right raw materials to upholster and repair seat covers
- Build and develop relationships with internal and external customers.
- Work to targets in line with department standard times, volume and quality

To do this, you'll:

- Be a confident user of a sewing machine
- Have good hand/eye coordination
- Display good attention to detail
- Be focused and flexible in your approach
- Be a team player
- Have excellent communication skills

This is an exciting and challenging role for someone looking to develop in an
environment where they'll learn to make and repair specialist covers precisely and effectively.

This is a permanent position working 37.75 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with a lunchtime finish on Fridays We offer:
