To carry out duties given to the individual by Value stream manager/ Working team Leader using the appropriate equipment safely while following the correct procedures & requirements of Quality and Health & Safety, to produce work to the level of quality which is to an acceptable standard while maintaining an acceptable level of productivity.

**Main Responsibilities
- To be capable of correctly following workplace instructions.
- Check that the machine is maintained, and all the controls and items are fitted for the safe operation of the machine & are fitted correctly and are in good order.
- On receipt of a job card, to identify & select the material that corresponds with the instructions on the job card, then safely transport the material to the machine & correctly place on or within the place of work.
- To correctly select blades, feeds & speeds, methods, and material to produce what the customer requires while maintaining attention to detail.
- To follow all procedures laid down in the Quality Procedures & record information as defined using the equipment provided.
- General housekeeping, responsible within the place of work.
- Occasional special projects may need to be completed on site with a customer’s representative, so appearance, politeness and attitude are important.
- Movement of machinery, correct handling techniques and equipment should be used at all times.
- Operators have responsibility for cleaning and maintaining their Machines and ancillary equipment. All faults must be immediately reported to the Value stream manager/ Working team Leader. All machine/maintenance service schedules must be adhered to.
- Other associated duties may be required from time to time as assigned by management.

**Requirements**:

- Good communication and listening skills
- Good knowledge of English and Maths
- Inspection & Measurement experiences
- Knowledge of Production systems
- Knowledge of Quality systems
- Health & Safety awareness
- Awareness of machines, manual handling, quality, and production procedures - training will be completed.
- High level of concentration and attention to detail
- Work well within a team, however able to carry out tasks and duties independently
- be able to complete record sheets and paperwork.
- provide good customer service
- understanding and recognising part numbers, cast numbers & identification of parts, including identifying sequences of numbers and letters accurately.
- Forklift Truck &/or Crane Operator certificate preferrable however not essential.
