International Studies Abroad by Worldstrides is based out of Austin, Texas with offices around the globe. Since 1987, ISA has provided college students the opportunity to explore the world though our various programs including Study Abroad, Internships, Service-Learning, and our Custom-Programs built to fit the needs of faculty and institutions.

We are currently seeking a London, UK based Student Services and Custom Programs Assistant to help with the planning and execution of on-site programs in London & Reading.

**Report to** : UK Resident Director, work closely with US based staff.

**Duration**: January - End of July

When reasonably required, you may be asked to work additional hours and on weekends.

Possibility to extend the contract.

**SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES**

**STUDENT SERVICES & CP ASSISTANT DUTIES**
- Conduct on-site orientation to ISA students upon arrival to inform them about all aspects of the program including housing, health and safety issues, academic considerations and local culture.
- Assist students with integration into the local culture, and provide students information and advice about opportunities for cultural enrichment.
- Organise and accompany students on ISA excursions, activities, guest lectures and social events. Weekend travel is required.
- Manage various logístical matters such as making hotel reservations, arranging tours and cultural visits, coordinating group transportation.
- Coordinate student housing and assist students with any issues that may arise related to their housing.
- Remain on-call after regular office hours for students

**ADDITIONAL DUTIES**
- Provide an administrative assistance, i.e answering phones, attending to student inquiries and updating incident reports as and when required.
- Attend to any student emergency as and when required, some on-call hours may be required
- Assist with student issues or emergencies that may arise, as needed

**TRAVEL**

This position is based in London. Travel to other locations and around UK may be required though work with organisations, students, and programmes. Travel can include weekdays and weekends.

**KEY QUALITIES**

Previous experience in international education and enjoys working with college students, possesses strong leadership qualities, and is flexible to work independently. The position requires someone capable of working with students, employers, and local organizations in a highly confident, professional, and positive manner.
- Flexibility is a key trait within this role. You may be asked to work at different location or assist in other areas to support the team and as the workload requires, hours may vary.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Knowledge of British culture and business practices
- Applicants must be able to lawfully accept and retain employment in UK at the time of the offer of employment ( **no visa assistance is provided** ).
- Tourism, Sales, Business, HR, PR, International Education, Education experience/degree preferred.
- Experience living, working or studying in the United States or experience working with American students or businesses.
- Willing to work odd hours and weekends, as required.
- Experience working with students, particularly leading groups of students _**OR**_ extensive experience in planning and organizing events, groups, and/or programmes.
