ROLE: Embedded Hardware Engineer

LOCATION: London

**Responsibilities**:

- As a member of the hardware development team, your role will be to design, verify, commission and productise hardware designs for their Antenna products.
- To deliver hardware designs from the requirements stage, generating design specifications, schematic entry though PCB layout, commissioning, verification and integration into systems.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, in particularly software, systems and mechanical teams to ensure effective support of existing development programmes.
- Perform design and timing calculations, signal integrity simulations and detailed design verification at a board assembly and system level to ensure reliable designs.
- Knowledge of low-power linear and switch mode point-of-load power supply design.
- Lead and participate in hardware design reviews when appropriate to ensure quality designs.
- Design and support of commissioning code, software integration and system validation activities. Liaise with the manufacturing team for production build packs for sub-contract manufacture.

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Requirements:

- A good first or upper 2nd Class degree (BEng/MEng) in Electronic/Electrical Engineering from a leading University.
- At least 3 years' commercial product experience in a relevant industry working on embedded hardware design in the data communications, automotive or aerospace industry.
- Competent in Embedded Digital Design from requirements capture, specification and design through to software and systems integration, test and manufacture.
- Strong embedded design skills using the ARM Cortex family of MCUs, combined with exposure to FPGAs and an understanding of Ethernet. Familiar with interfacing to external memories and peripherals such as QSPI Flash, SDRAM, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, using standardinterfaces.
- Good understanding of low power, point of load power supply design (switch mode and linear). Familiarity with simulation tools & test methods for transient analysis.
- Competent with schematic capture tools especially Altium Designer Schematics/layout and HyperLynx for SI simulations. DFM/DFT for volume manufacture.
- Experienced in high-speed impedance-controlled PCB layouts for digital and mixed signal circuits, defining stackups and constraints. Good knowledge of high-speed layout techniques.
