We are currently looking for part-time Support Workers to provide a high level of care to our client, a 17-year-old young man with cerebral palsy, in Pontypridd.

**The Role**
As a Support Worker, you will provide care for our client, a young man with cerebral palsy, supporting him with a range of day-to-day activities.
Working as part of a team, you’ll help provide 24 hour 2:1 support and personal care including helping him with his eating and drinking (mainly via PEG feed) and all toileting needs. He is sling hoisted for all transfers and uses eye gaze/gestures to communicate.
You will also support our client’s daily therapeutic needs, helping him to access the hydrotherapy pool, complete his physiotherapy plan and his 24-hour postural programme.
You will play a crucial role in supporting him to engage in different activities and access the community and you will complete all aspects of domestic support in order to keep his environment clean.
**About You**
To join us as a Support Worker, you will need:

- To be registered with Social Care Wales or be working towards this
- A recognised Health and Social Care qualification (NVQ Level 2 or a Diploma) OR have completed the All Wales Induction Framework, or be willing to complete this within 6 months of starting if successful
- The ability to follow instructions and/or guidance
- Good communication skills
- A full, valid driving licence
Ideally, you will have previous experience of learning, cognitive and/or behavioural support, as well as providing care for clients with communication difficulties.
Other organisations may call this role Trainee Support Worker, Junior Care Worker, Care Assistant, Residential Care Assistant, Care Worker, Care Assistant, or Personal Care Assistant.
Your hours will vary with a minimum of 36 hours per fortnight, these hours will be made up of the following available shifts patterns. Applicants must be available to work any of these shifts as required.
Tuesday 14.00 - Wednesday 10.00 (alternate weeks)
Wednesday 14.00 through to Thursday 10.00 (alternate weeks)
Friday 14.00 through to Saturday 11.00
Saturday 11.00 through to Sunday 11.00 (alternate weeks)
Sunday 18.00 through to Monday 10.00 (alternate weeks)
This position requires a fully enhanced disclosure request from the DBS. You will also be required to register with the DBS Update Service.
