**Job Summary**
Spectrum Gaming are seeking to appoint a Meetups Coordinator, to be responsible for organising and running face to face activities, specifically in the Manchester area. Our meetups provide a safe and accepting environment for autistic young people to develop friendships and their sense of belonging.
Our Meetups Coordinator will work closely with colleagues in the face to face team to ensure the smooth running of events so that our community can relax and have fun
The job involves a wide range of tasks, and is ideal for someone with a playful, sunny disposition who loves to be organised as well as engaging with groups of young people
**Duties**
**Event Coordination**:
- Set up new interest groups and activities based on input from community members.
- Organise and facilitate partnerships with local organisations to deliver joint activities and events.
- Coordinate all aspects of new activities, including gathering member interest, securing venues, arranging funding, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring all logistics are in place.
- Provide ongoing support for meetup leads, including being the main point of contact for queries and issues during meetups.
- Ensure inclusivity at all events by following the ‘Inclusive Activity Toolkit’ and liaising with parents and carers to meet individual young people’s needs.
- Plan and arrange trips and weekend activities, incorporating feedback from young people.
- Ensure safety and compliance, including maintaining up-to-date risk assessments, managing safeguarding procedures, and ensuring legal requirements like first aid and insurance are met.
- Maintain accurate records of activities and ensure venues are prepared and cleaned before and after events.
- Foster communication between volunteers, meetup leads, parents, and Spectrum Gaming, ensuring everyone is informed and supported.
- Offer staff support by managing the recruitment, induction and ongoing support of meetup helpers (staff and volunteers).
- Build on the knowledge, experience and skills of the existing Manchester staff team and wider meetup staff to ensure we can offer more and better sessions for young people.
The Meetup Coordinator will also be required at times to act as a **Meetup Lead**or a **Meetup Helper.** These roles involve:
- Leading or helping with the preparation of the venue
- Leading or attending the briefing prior to the arrival of members
- Leading or helping with running activities
- Engaging with young people and their parents
- Leading or helping with tidying and cleaning of equipment/venue
- Contributing to post meetup reflection documentation
**Experience**
**Essential**:
- Experience in leading groups; planning and managing activities/events.
- Experience of supporting young people aged 10-18 in group settings, and on a 1:1 basis.
- Awareness and understanding of neurodiversity in particular autism.
- Relevant professional qualification in youth work: (a) Level 3 certificate in youth work practice; and/or (b) Level 3 diploma in youth work practice, or have demonstrable and relevant youth work experience and be prepared to undertake this training within an agreed time period.
- Can use a range of communication skills in order to communicate at all levels
- Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Proactive and independent working attitude with a problem-solving approach to tasks and issues.
- Excellent self-reflection skills and a willingness to undertake training where necessary.
- Live within a commutable distance of Bury.
**Desirable**:
- Experience working in a trauma informed way.
- Knowledge of co-production in groups and within the community.
- Having a strong connection to autism and an understanding of the challenges autistic young people face.
- Ability to identify new opportunities and partnerships.
- Ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude working with a range of people.
- Be able to work under pressure.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 36 months
Pay: £23,400.00 per year
