Macmillan Cancer Therapies Support Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the esteemed Cancer Therapy team at Dorset County Hospital as a Band 4 Therapy Support Worker.
The team provide therapy to both inpatients and outpatients along the cancer pathway whilst working alongside members of the acute and community MDT.
You will have the opportunity to develop through our training programme and have the advantage of being a Macmillan professional.
To introduce a rehabilitation model to ensure people living with a cancer
diagnosis and have access to self-management programmes enabling them to reach their physical, psychological, social and vocational potential consistent with their limitations, desires and life plans.
To determine clinical diagnosis and develop effective treatment plans with the support of relevant senior staff.
Be responsible for maintain own competency to practice through CPD
activities and maintain a portfolio which reflects personal development and professional standards.
To complete the Holistic Needs Assessment process, and devise care plans in conjunction with a qualified member of the MDT.
To assist the Macmillan cancer therapy team with the on-going rehabilitation of cancer patients. Supporting patients with the transition from hospital to place of residence.
To support a clinical caseload of patients.
