Job Title: Principal Planning Policy Officer (Central Lancashire Local Plan Team)
Location: Chorley (hybrid)
**Salary**: £39,493- £41,496
Hours: 36.25
Contract: Permanent

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Central Lancashire Local Plan team, playing a key role in the delivery of a new Central Lancashire Local Plan.
You will be uniquely placed to prepare and deliver a new plan which will shape the three areas of Preston, Chorley and South Ribble for the next fifteen years, ensuring we deliver our key priorities around climate change and the natural environment and supporting our communities to create jobs and training opportunities, deliver new homes and plan for the infrastructure needed to sustain our boroughs.
What you will be getting up to
- Supporting and deputising for the Central Lancashire Local Plan Manager
- Undertaking a number of financial responsibilities
- Dealing with all aspects of Local Plan making
- Leading on the preparation of policies and the commissioning of evidence base work
- Providing technical expertise to managers and elected members at the three Councils
Who we’re looking for?
- A qualified planner and chartered member of the RTPI with a minimum of two years post qualification experience, including Local Plan preparation, and a thorough understanding of national planning policy.

Additional information
This role requires the postholders to be willing to work flexibly across the Council offices of Chorley, Preston and South Ribble as required.
