The team provides research, operational strategy, facilitiesmanagement, design consultancy, operational costs and lifecycle modelling services to BTR Investors, Developers & Operator clients. Cortland Consult is part of Cortland who develop, invest, and operate over 80,000 multifamily units the US and is developing 10,000 BTR units in the UK having already secured sizeable projects in Watford, Birmingham, and Manchester with a steady pipelineto follow.

As a Junior Research Associate, you will have a vital role in the Cortland Consult team and specialise in collecting, analysing and presenting both qualitative and quantitative research. Our consultancy covers a range of aspects in BTR development includinglocation analysis, rental projections, site feasibility, scheme design, lifecycle, and operational advice which all evolves into the production of detailed reports and consultancy workshops for our clients.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Preparation of a range of investment and market reports to include demographics, competitor analysis, target markets, local pricing and amenities, supply and demand and affordability across a wide range of geographies.
- Research and production of narrative to advise clients on the key attributes of a location at both macro and micro level to support the viability of their development.
- Support and maintenance of our internal databases and datasets.
- Interrogation, updating and mining of data from our internal and external databases.
- Stay aware of current market BTR market trends and datasets in which will aid Cortland Consult’s growth and services provided to clients.
- Analysis of datasets and to create visual graphs, infographics, maps, and written summaries.
- Comprehensive review and analysis of research materials, including wider market reports and local agent research.
- Engagement with clients to understand their research and reporting requirements.

**KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE**:

- A basic understanding of the BTR or PRS sector (desirable but not essential).
- Experience in using mapping tools.
- Bachelor’s degree - Research/Humanities/Real Estate/Construction/Economics or equivalent experience.
- A keen interest to build a career in the BTR / residential property sector.

- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.

- Attention to detail and proofreading one’s own and others work.
