Senior Data Scientist

We are currently recruiting for multiple Data Scientists to join our growing Digital Technology capability. As part of our team, you will support Data Innovation design team with insight and analysis and lead the cross-training of business teams to embeddata science skills in the broader business

**What you will be doing**:

- Formulate a data science business strategy in conjunction with the data science community.
- Be one of the recognised industry specialists advising and consulting within the data science and analyst community on complex data science solutions and insights.
- Manage multiple concurrently virtual (matrix) teams of diverse specialists.
- Develop, support, educate, and promote our solution capabilities in data science within the data analyst/data science community.
- Lead the broader Data Scientist and Data Analyst community to identify and deliver opportunities to support the customer’s strategic direction through better use of our data.
- Manage multiple concurrent virtual (matrix) teams of data science specialists to implement the strategy.
- Embed new data techniques into the business through role modeling, training and design oversight
- Support the processes of pilots and proof of concept delivery to prove opportunities and develop business cases to drive those opportunities; influencing stakeholders and gaining stakeholder support across the bank as required
- Good knowledge of leading-edge analytical techniques coupled with a good understanding of the bank operations, revenue drivers, risks, and key customer interactions across all franchises.
- Work with the broader Innovation teams to explore and contextualize new techniques and tools
- Work with Data Innovation Delivery to pilot new ideas in proof of concept, and subsequently larger projects

**What you’ll bring**:

- Good understanding of the bank across all franchises and functions from a business and data perspective.
- Experience in data science techniques for the pragmatic implementation of Machine Learning, Artificial
- Intelligence, and multi-variant analysis techniques.
- Experience of tools used to deploy advanced techniques (R, Impala, SAS, Python, Spark) within a structured and unstructured data environment.
- Ability to manage a team of analysts and scientists in a technically complex environment.
- A structured thinker having the ability to clarify and simplify complex solutions to achieve business insights.
