As the business has grown and prospered, we now have a new opportunity for an experienced professional to join the team. As Head of Compliance, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Second Line Compliance Team, providing Compliance guidance and oversight across the Society.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Support the Chief Risk Officer in delivering strategic & departmental objectives for the Compliance Team, along with the ongoing development and evolution of the Compliance function.
- Lead the development, delivery & oversight of the Annual Compliance Plan, ensuring appropriate second line oversight of the Society’s operational activities and continuing compliance with regulatory obligations.
- Day to day management and development of the second line Compliance team.
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, Executive and the Board to provide support and guidance in relation to compliance with regulatory obligations.
- Provide assurance to key stakeholders on key risks and controls, including the delivery of the annual Controls Review.
- Support the development and management of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
- Act as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team.
- Draft and present Reports and Management Information to Executive and Board level Committees, on the activity and responsibilities of the Compliance Team.
- Be a key member of the First Line Risk Committee, Product & Performance Committee and Change Management Committee.
- Support the Data Protection Officer to ensure ongoing compliance with the Society’s Data Protection/GDPR requirements.

**Experience**
- Experience of working in a Senior Risk or Compliance role within a regulated firm, preferably Retail Banking.
- A strong understanding of the UK Regulatory Framework (PRA & FCA). Knowledge or understanding of the FCA’s Consumer Duty requirements would be an advantage.
- Experience of leading/managing a Risk or Compliance team.
- Understanding of UK Data Protection Requirements.
- Previous experience of holding SMF16 would be desirable but not required.

The role is based in our principal office in the market town of Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. Working at the Melton, comes with a mindset of flexible working where possible depending on job type and business needs. The expectation is that this role would require a mix of days working and collaborating in the office with days working from home.
