Job description
Directorate: Adult Care, Housing & Public Health
Permanent, 22.5 hours per week.
Davies Court is a residential care unit based in Dinnington. This is a 60 bedded unit delivering two services, dementia care and intermediate care (rehabilitation).
You will carry out general cleaning duties and contribute to the provision of a comfortable, safe and hygienic environment for service users and other customers at the home.
You will:
- Follow cleaning schedules as instructed, to ensure that high standards are maintained and comply with infection control policies and procedures and follow best practice. To work within a designated area of the home which will be allocated by a shift Leader.
Ensure that daily and deep cleaning schedules are strictly followed, ensuring that areas are disinfected and cleaned to the highest of standards to reduce cross-contaminations and that meet infection control standards.
Ensure that personal presentation and hygiene is at the highest standard when working within the care home.
Ensure that cleaning equipment and materials are stored safely in line with COSSH regulations and RMBC Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Be accountable and act immediately by ensuring all defects are reported immediately to higher management and/or the handyman, as in line for your responsibilities for keeping yourself and others safe from harm.
Carry out any other reasonable instructions from the Shift Leader/ Deputy and Registered Manager, adapt to any changes implemented to meet the changing needs of the service working in line with legislation and policies and procedures.
Be sensitive, respectful, and consider the clients right to privacy, ensuring that a person-centred approach is always adopted.
Comply with COSHH regulations, risk assessments and infection control procedures that relate to the role. There is a requirement to attend all mandatory training and meetings.
Effectively communicate both written and verbally to ensure that all the team work in a joined-up way.
