In Children’s Services we are committed to providing young people within our community a nurturing caring environment that helps build social and life skills and enhances young people’s resilience. We are keen to ensure that young people who attend Clophill Children's home achieve good health, wellbeing and educational outcomes.

Your role will involve nurturing, primary care tasks and encourage participation in the young people’s ongoing care plan. You will have an opportunity to provide key support work to young people, involving 1-2-1 interactions, responding to their thoughts, feelings and wishes and providing positive role modelling examples.

The nature of the role of a Support Worker will involve experiencing and learning to manage challenging behaviour. You will need to have the ability to self-reflect on the impact and demands of your role. Your role will also involve supporting young people at meetings and working collaboratively within a multiagency context. You will have regular supervision from an experienced line manager and will have opportunities to access training both externally and via online resources.

You will be expected to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends and sleep ins. It is essential that you have excellent communication skills, a commitment to working within the health and social field and self-insight and awareness of your own personal experiences and how they may influence you in this role.
