**Description**:
Our Public Sector client is looking to recruit a Interim Head of Housing Repairs, Maintenance and Safety on a 18 month initial contract.

This role is a senior managerial position where you will be leading a large scale operation that will be provide a responsive and planned maintenance housing repair service to improve existing housing stock and provide new homes. Leading a multi-disciplined team that we manage surveying, work diagnostics, scheduling, contractor management, building safety, cyclical and planned maintenance, improvements and construction design.

**Your core responsibilities and duties will include**:

- Leadership and management of the service
- Ensure properties are safe and secure meeting fire, gas and defined standards
- Ensure customer expectations are exceeded by the Team
- Deliver the housing repair and maintenance service
- Deliver homes that meet the Decent Homes Standard and also company standards
- Develop and embed a culture of achieving positive outcomes for residents
- Ensure a coherent service delivery
- Work with and manage a wide range of stakeholders
- Resource Management
- Drive continuous improvement
- Promote the value of equality and inclusion
- Private or public sector (Housing Association, Council / Local Authority, Housing Provider, Social Housing, etc) experience at a senior level, leading large complex organisation in the field of construction, housing repairs or maintenance
- Excellent client and customer delivery attributes
- Solid experience in the residential sector
- Proven financial and project management expertise and experience, demonstrable ability to manage resources and staff to deliver programmes within budget
- Energy, drive and excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage conflict and challenging dynamics with a multiplicity of stakeholders
- Adaptability and flexibility, think strategically but prepared to get involved in operational issues and decisions
- Can represent the employer within a unionised environment, taking forward our strategic and operational objectives
- Excellent communicator, skill set to manage multiple interfaces with diverse stakeholders, including political councillors, residents, senior executive leaders of the council, staff and external contracts
- A ‘doer’ who is able to contribute as a key member of the Homes and Landlord senior management team, strategically and operationally
- Can deliver key outcomes, including reducing void turnaround for major and minor works
- Passion and in depth understanding of equality, inclusion and diversity, and what it means in a local government housing context
- Customer focused - internal/external
- Able to distil complex issues into accessible but comprehensive communications to residents and councillors
- Willingness to engage directly with residents/tenants
- Able to present with confidence and authority in public meetings
- Resilience and energy

The role will be based from the office in Bristol and will allow some hybrid working however the ability to work in the office is essential to the success of this role.

The client is offering a day rate of £750 - 900 per day Inside IR35 via a umbrella company.
