Schools Finance Officer

Job Description
Due to the retirement of the previous postholder we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed School Finance Officer to work within the busy Children’s Services Finance team.
Main duties of this post include:
- management of a designated caseload of schools to deliver the requirements of their finance service level agreement;
- provision of financial advice and support to headteachers and governing bodies;
- preparation of budget projections for schools to facilitate the annual budget setting process, and regular updating and monitoring of projections during the year;
- regular updating of the school’s Financial Management System and completion of bank reconciliations.
The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification (or equivalent) or working towards this qualification is an essential criteria.
Knowledge of local government financial regulations and procedures and/or experience of working within a school financial environment would be an advantage.
