Our client - an established Chartered Accountancy firm based in Leicester - is seeking an experienced accounts assistant / administrator to join their team on a part-time permanent basis.
Bookkeeping:
*Liaising with clients to ensure receipt of all necessary documentation in order to deliver timely, accurate bookkeeping services,
*Accurately input sales & purchases data for clients' accounts,
*Keep up-to-date records of client assets,
*Conduct bank reconciliation as per client requirements (monthly, quarterly, annually),
*Maintain debtor / creditor lists quarterly or annually,
*Provide records as requested by clients,
*Prepare quarterly VAT returns for sign-off by management team,
*Maintain accounts to trial balance stage,
*Record client information, storing & maintaining client files in line with compliance,
*Timely raising of queries relating to bookkeeping with the relevant Accountant.
Administration:
*Answer telephones / main point of contact for external clients,
*Work alongside IT Service provider to ensure the smooth running of in-house systems,
*Manage client database, ensuring all information is correct and up to date (including implementation of on-boarding for new clients & ensuring Anti-Money Laundering Regulations are met),
*Undertake company secretarial work for the business & clients as required,
*Assist the Directors with managing the upkeep of the premises, with reference to utilities & supplier contracts,
*Ensure all legislative requirements are adhered to in line with ACCA guidance,
*Maintain & improve the businesses online presence, keeping social media platforms up to date,
*Support the Directors in business HR matters, authorising holidays & ensuring all staff policies / procedures are maintained,
*Manage company archiving, scanning & shredding documentsmoving towards paperless,
*Any other ad-hoc administrative task as required by the business.
The Right Person
*Experience within a similar role, including bookkeeping & VAT return preparation. A background in accountancy practice preferred, but not essential,
*Strong IT skills incl. Sage Line 50 + Microsoft Excel, Outlook & Word skills. Experience using Sage Business Cloud Accounting & Xero Cloud Accounting preferred, but not essential,
*Accounting and/or administrative qualifications preferred, but not essential,
*Effective written & verbal communication skills, confident in presenting financial information to senior management,
*A good eye for detail, proactive and able to work on own initiative with mínimal supervision,
*Excellent planning, organisation & deadline time keeping skills,
*Able to follow strict guidelines / legislation, monitoring updates & implementing necessary changes to practice.
