We are currently seeking a highly experienced individual from a senior Estates Management background to join us as the Head of Estates at the William Harvey Hospital.

In this role, your primary focus will be to ensure the smooth operation of the hospital, minimizing downtime that may affect critical clinical services.

To excel in this position, you will need a deep understanding of the hospital's operations, including in-depth knowledge of the plant and equipment. Proactive management of your service will be essential to ensure efficient and effective planning, compliance with statutory, mandatory, and HTM regulations, and proper lifecycle management.

As the Head of Estates, you will be responsible for managing a diverse team with a range of skills and knowledge. Strong communication skills will be necessary to collaborate closely with clinical teams and liaise with internal teams, including procurement and financial management.

This role will also require participation in the on-call rota and attendance at the hospital outside of normal working hours to support incidents, emergency planning, and contingencies. Additionally, there may be a need to visit other sites, so a full UK driving license is essential.

**Key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Providing advice and reporting to the Associate Director of Estates and the Board on departmental matters, improvement issues, long-term planning, and finance.
- Overseeing managers to ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance is scheduled and completed according to regulatory requirements, with all necessary remedial actions taken to ensure compliance.
- Managing repairs and projects to ensure effective management and completion by the team in line with regulations and legislation.
- Monitoring and reporting on KPI and SLA compliance, taking necessary actions to resolve any issues.
- Providing assurance to the Senior Leadership Team and the Board regarding appropriate management of the estate and assets, in line with best practices and mandatory/legal requirements.
- Budget setting and monitoring expenditure across Technical Solutions services, including energy budgets, manpower budgets, and asset management across multiple sites.
- Ensuring effective implementation of the CAFM system
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience in effectively managing restrictive budgets.
- Computer literacy and the ability to prioritize and manage a busy workload. - Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in CAD, BMS, and PPM systems. - A customer-focused approach.
- Excellent knowledge of healthcare guidance such as HTM's, HBN's, and other industry-specific guidance notes.
- Excellent knowledge of building regulations, project management, and related regulations (e.g., asbestos, water management, COSHH).
- Professional knowledge acquired through a degree or equivalent, as well as specialist knowledge gained through post-graduate or specialist courses.
- Membership in a recognized Building Services institute is desirable

**Salary**: From £61,400.00 per year
