**Overview**

Our cook will know or learn about sector guidelines and catering for individual needs.

Also, understand the importance of freshly prepared meals and cook to a high standard, ensuring all food safety/allergy requirements are met.

The role requires commitment, creativity and good attention to detail.

We know our cook is an integral part of our team and they are warmly welcomed by the children, staff and parents.

**Duties**
- Develop and implement age-appropriate meal/snack menus that promote variety and fresh produce.
- Cook and prepare healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children aged 0 to 5 years.
- Cater for children who have allergies or individual dietary requirements by preparing suitable alternatives.
- Oversee stock rotation, prepare a weekly shopping list and complete an online order.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and record all health and safety checks.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety standards during all meal preparation and kitchen activities.
- Communicate and collaborate with staff to ensure no issues arise and all eventualities are covered.

**Skills**
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a larger team.
- Experience of meal preparation or culinary skills is advantageous, particularly in a preschool setting.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations related to kitchen operations is preferred.
- Strong organisational skills to manage your own time efficiently.
- A passion for cooking and baking which in turn produces quality food.
- An ability to work well under pressure.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12,480.00-£12,698.00 per year

Expected hours: 20 per week
