Stock and Returns Controller

Robert Lee Distribution Limited is the largest independent distributor of bathroom, kitchen and plumbing products, supplying to retailers in the UK. We're looking for enthusiastic, team-players to join our busy, well-established Warehouse stock team in Heywood.

The role:
The role will require a working knowledge of both the stock control and stock returns systems within the business (training will be provided). You will work as part of a small stock team reporting to the Stock and Returns Supervisor. The wright applicant will be happy to work for periods in both roles, dependent of the needs/workload of the business under the direction of the Stock and Returns Supervisor.

Key activities and responsibilities:

- Responsible for necessary Robert Lee Distribution stock control functions being carried out correctly, to policy and procedure.
- Cross-departmental working with key Robert Lee Distribution colleagues in Purchasing, Goods In, Warehouse, Transport and Sales
- Pro-actively manage the stock at risk and quality control issues, ensure returned items are in 100% resalable condition
- Manage and control perpetual stock counting, complete regular inventory accuracy checks
- Complete and process daily/weekly/monthly reports and address all manufacturing faults to vendors
- Process SRNs/SOs returned by drivers and branches on a daily basis while liaising with the transport team to ensure timely and coordinated processing of returns in to the business.
- Restocking, moving and rearranging stock, either by hand or with heavy lifting equipment
- The supervising of container stock receipt (Assisting with unloading where necessary)
- Operating internal inventory system including hand held scanners and labellers (training provided)
- Repackaging damaged goods to Quality Control standards.
- Maintaining good housekeeping throughout the site
- Driving FLT on daily basis (Desired but not essential)
- Supporting other operational departments when necessary (picking, goods-in etc.)

Experience and education:

- Experience in a Stock Control, Returns / Planning environment
- IT literate
- MHE Counterbalance forklift licence (Desired but not essential)
- Fast moving distribution/ logistics experience
- Practical understanding of Health and Safety matters in a warehouse environment
- GCSE or equivalent
- English (required)
