Housing Officer

Job Introduction
At Yorkshire Housing we want customers to be proud of where they live, and we want our colleagues to feel empowered to ensure our customers have homes and places to be proud of. We know that customers value seeing our teams out and about and customers want us to pick up any issues without them needing to call us. So, we’re on the lookout for superstars to join us as **Place Manager’s** in **North Yorkshire.**
We’re super lucky to have **various opportunities** available for Place Manager’s (woo), we've got a **12,9** and **6 **month fixed term contract available. Don’t worry - your eyes don’t deceive you, we did advertise this as a **Housing Officer** to get your attention but we know you’ll have heaps of transferrable skills to our **Place Manager** role. So, pop the kettle on and have a read of what we’re after
**What do you need from me?**
Well, we’re looking for people who enjoy being out and about talking to customers and looking after our stock reporting any repairs etc. You’ll need to relish the opportunity to make a real difference to people's lives, and you’ll be a bit obsessed about solving problems and delivering results.
We’re about innovation and we want to do the traditional bits that customers love but we also use tech to support how we work. You’ll know how to manage social housing tenancies but you’ll also be curious about different ways to do things that deliver great results.
You’ll be out and about visiting customers in their homes and carrying out inspections of our places, so we're looking for someone who lives in a commutable distance to travel around West Yorkshire and its surrounding areas.
We don’t have offices - we Hub, Home and Roam - this role is mostly about the roaming. We’ll give you some great kit so that you can work on the go and at home and across various Yorkshire Housing hubs across beautiful Yorkshire
**Ok now I’m definitely interested? What do I do now?**
If you can say yes to the following statements, we’d like to hear from you.
- I’ve got experience managing social tenancies
- I’ve got great problem-solving skills
- I’ve got a track record of achieving results for customers
- I’m great at prioritising and managing my time
- I like being out and about and can work on my own initiative
- I take ownership and responsibility
- I’m a little bit obsessed about great customer service
**This role sounds perfect, so what's in it for me?**
We offer a salary of** £32,646.25** plus **£2,000 car allowance** per annum for a 35-hour week, 25 days annual leave (raising annually to 30 days) plus Bank Holidays.
We also work (truly) flexibly, and believe work is something you do, not somewhere you go.
But that’s not all. We offer a reward package to suit everyone. At YH, you can claim back for prescriptions, eye tests and more with our cash plan, make the most of a variety of retail discounts and take advantage of our pension scheme where we’ll match your contributions up to 9%, just to name a few.
Our people’s health and wellbeing is one of our top priorities, and you can make the most of our readily available wellbeing support package. This includes access to a library of free fitness classes, as well as an instant My GP service and free counselling sessions with a trained professional.
**So, now you’re really interested?**
**The fine print**
Also, as this role is one where you'll be out and about, you'll need for a **full UK driving license** and use of a car for business purposes. As you’ll be working closely with our customers too, we’ll need to do a **DBS check** for this role.
