Are you a Software Engineer with experience of ERP Systems who is ready to move into the exciting and challenging area of Defence IT? Or a Tester seeking a new challenge?

**What you'll be doing**:

- Work closely with a small team of Business Analysts, Technical Implementers, Testers and client-side Subject Matter Experts to align the latest operational ERP platform technologies to our clients’ current and evolving business needs
- Support the ERP practice with knowledge of ERP features and how to align them to business process, for example managing stock with inventory location control
- Work with stakeholders including client representatives at all levels, technology suppliers, consultants and the user community
- Support implementation programmes and delivery of through-life enhancements and improvements
- Provide specialist technical knowledge to consultancy teams
- Support project management as a key technical contributor and advisor
- Report issues, concerns and ideas and escalate to senior project members
- Work within business and security frameworks (ITIL, JSP, IMM)
- Prototyping
- Documenting Solutions (High and Low Level Designs HLD/LLD)

**What you’ll bring**:

- Sound knowledge and experience of associated software engineering tools, techniques, methods
- Demonstrable experience of working as a Software Engineer on large or complex software engineering programmes/ projects
- Knowledge and experience of ERP platforms (Knowledge of the IFS product suite would be an advantage)
- Project/ team leadership of a software development team
- Understanding of impact of technology, environment and infrastructure on the business
- Product Evaluation
- Detailed system design
- Define hardware/ software performance and specify requirements
- Create/ Build Software Design software component
- Manage / Conduct testing
- Prepare implementation, conversion and cutover plans
- Install systems
- Create user and operational documentation
- Support users during early live running

**It would be great if you had**:

- Defence sector knowledge
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A desire to obtain in-depth knowledge of IFS ERP product suite - training will be provided
