Our high-quality, industry-leading technology assists scientistsacross the globe to detect and diagnose diseases, including COVID-19.
As part of this expansion, we are looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our team at our Stokesley site and guide the architecture and development of our digital solutions.
This role can be fully remote, although ideally will be a hybrid working pattern. There may be very occasional travel to other Novacyt sites in Southampton and/or Camberley.

**The Role**
As a Senior Software Developer, you will write, develop, test and maintain pivotal code on various technology platforms.
Predominantly using Microsoft Stack and/or.NET Core platforms and Microsoft Azure, you will architect new digital solutions, as well as guiding the team on best practice.
You will contribute to the improvement of the delivery lifecycle, through implementing methodologies, DevOps practices and frequent retrospectives.
Investigating and implementing new technologies, you will ensure our code is maintainable as our company grows.
**About You**
To be considered as a Senior Software Developer, you will need:
- Demonstrable experience of C# and/or.NET Core
- Experience working with cloud platforms and cloud-first approaches, preferably in Microsoft Azure
- Experience building web-based APIs, preferably using a microservice-based approach
- Knowledge of good software engineering practices, such as unit testing, SOLID principles, DevOps principles etc.
- A flexible and adaptable approach
- The desire to grow personally and professionally
- The ability to work as part of a team
Additionally, you will need to be familiar with good software lifecycle management concepts such as:
- Git workflow and change control
- Automated testing
- Continuous integration and deployment
- Issue tracking
- Versioning and release management
Experience in instrumentation software and R&D, preferably in the field of Life Sciences would also be advantageous. Varied experience across desktop software, cloud services, firmware development, IoT, analysis algorithms and data science using a variety oflanguages would also be desirable.
