Reporting to the Installations & Operations Manager, the role of the **Fitters Mate** is to support their assigned Lead Fitter to provide high quality installations to all allocated contracts, adhering to the standards set by Stafford uPVC Windows and building regulations.

**Duties include**:

- Assist in the removal and installation of windows and doors with the use of hand and power tools
- Taking accurate measurements of windows and doors when needed
- To fit a promotional sign upon completion of every job and photograph the completed job on the last day of the installation
- To utilise the contract paperwork provided to ensure the correct products, materials and access equipment are taken to site each day
- Working from scaffolds and ladders and other access equipment
- To highlight any issues on site to the Lead Fitter taking relevant photographs / video to support
- On return to site, correctly recycle old uPVC frames & trims; de-glaze and put into the correct skips.
- Complete necessary training in Manual Handling, Working at Heights and be committed to on-site training with the Lead Fitter.
- Support the Lead Fitter to keep the company vehicle clean and tidy, both inside and outside performing checks in accordance with the Vehicle check list and advising Business Support of any faults or issues.

- Will ideally have a full, clean driving licence
- Will be able to liaise with clients in a polite and respectful manner
- Will have the ability to work in a team and on own initiative
- Will be honest, reliable and punctual
- Will have excellent communication skills
- Must be able to commute to our premises daily

Experience in the fenestration industry is preferred, but not essential, as in-house and on the job training will be provided, for which you must possess a willingness to learn. This will include all aspects of health and safety.

This is a very physically demanding job involving heavy lifting and moving up and down access equipment for a large part of the working day.

**Hours**:45 hrs per week; 0700 - 1600 including 30 minutes paid break

**Salary**: Will be based on fitter minutes (price per products fitted) and a basic hourly rate when on-site, which will be discussed at interview.
